Under the cover is an industrial strength 36mm corrosion-resistant metal buckle, strong & easier to use w/ coldfingers. Matched w/ strong 30mm webbing straps, they come with a bag made from recycled plastics, shipped in a plastic-free Kraft cardboard package. The straps have rounded ends for easier threading into buckles with cold hands. That’s the BPS difference.

WHY (oh why) DID YOU MAKE THE BUCKLES BRIGHT BLUE? Because we use and test our own products A LOT, we have made the buckles bright blue as this makes it easier to find the END of each strap when they are sitting in a crumpled heap in the back of the car or garage (we won’t judge). Sometimes this is not an issue, but when you are freezing after a 3-hour surf and need to put the boards on the roof quickly because it’s starting to rain – bright buckles are good. 😎
